Help A Sistah Out

April 30, 2008 by Laura

This blog is a – hopefully – temporary home for the “Help A Sistah Out” foundation – yet to be established officially – which is aimed at enabling vocations by reducing debt of young women (and men) looking to enter religious life.

This organization was inspired by a conversation between several young women of varying vocations about the difficulty of entering religious life after higher education. Too many young people have to wait to enter religious life because of their debt. It is our mission to help them reduce that debt, one dollar at a time.

My vision for this group includes fund raisers galore and a very Franciscan method of begging for what we need. Beautifully, the young woman whose vocation has inspired this movement, is becoming a Franciscan sister!

Please pray for us and for the young people we are looking to support. To help alleviate debt (in any denomination), please visit our “write us” page. For any other information, please email us. The email address is the name of the blog at gmail.com.

Thank you in advance for your generosity on both spiritual and material levels!
